Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmad has issued the following statement on 4th July, 2017 expressing deep condolence as 11 people killed and 50 others injured in a boiler explosion at Multifabs Ltd apparel factory in Nayapara of Kishimpur in Gazipur district.
“It is really mournful that 11 people have been killed and 50 others became injured in a boiler explosion at Multifabs Ltd apparel factory in Nayapara of Kishimpur in Gazipur district.
We have been observing for long days, many labors are being killed and injured in boiler explosions in different garment and other kinds of factories. In most of the cases, the boilers are outdated and faulty. These accidents are being taken place due to lacking of supervision from the authorities.
I hope that the concerned authority would investigate into the incident of boiler explosion at Multifabs Ltd apparel factory to identify the responsible personnel in order to bring them to the book.
I am calling upon the authorities to pay due compensation to the deceased and injured victims of the boiler explosion.
I am praying for those persons who have been killed in this boiler explosion and extending deep sympathy to the victim families. I am also praying for the quick recovery of the injured peoples.”
