Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 20th May, 2024 expressing deep shock as Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other officials have been killed in a helicopter crash accident.

A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister has crashed while it was crossing mountainous terrain amid heavy fog. As a tour companions of the President, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati and Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the representative of the Iranian supreme leader to the province, were in the same helicopter and all of them have been killed in this tragic accident. I am very shocked and saddened at this accident. On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the Bangladeshi Islam-loving people, I am paying honor and tribute to the Iranian President and his entourage members. Their sudden demise will cause a major loss not only to Iran but also to the Muslim world.

I am praying for the salvation of the departed souls. May Allah bless them with Jannah. I am also extending my deep condolence and sympathy to the mournful families if the victims, their relatives, the Iranian government and the people of Iran.
