Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 6th December, 2023 protesting and condemning the Israeli air attacks and bombardment on the Gaza strip since last 1st December that killed more than thousands of Palestinian Muslims killed and wounded several thousands more.
“Israel is a terrorist country and they are continuing mass killings by ignoring the international norms and laws. They do not care about the international norms and law. Following the 7-days of ceasefire, they became more desperate and more destructive.
The hospitals of Gaza have become full of dead bodies. The murderer Israeli forces are complying any rules and system. They are mercilessly murdering the civilians, most of them are women and children. In last two months, Israel has murdered over 16 thousand Palestinians and wounded 50 thousand more. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have taken shelter in various shelter centers, hospitals, school, college, mosque and churches. But the Israeli forces are also attacking this civilian infrastructure. We have no word to condemn the barbarism of the Israeli forces. They are not allowing food, medicines and any essentials to enter in Gaza. The people of Palestine are living on starvation. Thousands of injured civilians are crying to get minimum treatment.
The brutal Israeli forces are not paying heed to the call of the UN. Defying the repeated call for cease fire, they are continuing war in Gaza and trying to eliminate the Palestinians. I am urging the world community to investigate the genocide and to prosecute the Israeli policy makers as war criminals.
I am also calling upon the sensible authorities including United Nations, United States, European Union, Russia, China and all other Muslim countries specially the Arab world to stop military assistance and to compel Israel to accept ceasefire immediately.”
