Dhaka south city Jamaat organizes discussion marking Independence Day

Secretary General calls to free the country from the conspiracy of the aggressor superpowers

-Mia Golam Porwar

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar has said, even 54 years after the independence, people are deprived from getting justice. People have no rights to speak out. They are not enjoying the fruit of independence. Jamaat-e-Islami and other political parties cannot arrange the program marking the independence and National Day. Our constitution ensures equality, human dignity, and social justice but all these basic issues have been subdued. By holding farcical election, Awami League has seized the voting rights of the people and launched one party fascist rule. Country’s independence is not safe under this regime. Although they are talking about democracy verbally but practically, they have murdered democracy. We have to free our country from the conspiracies of such superpowers and aggressor forces. We have to work altogether to bring an end to the fascism and also to turn the Bangladesh into a welfare state.

He said this while addressing a discussion program organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka south city on the occasion of the Independence and National Day. Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the program which was hosted by city secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan addressed the program as the special guest. Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city Jamaat’s assistant secretary Delwar Hossain and Kamal Hossain also spoke on the program. Among others, Dhaka south city Jamaat’s assistant office secretary Abdus Sattar Shumon, assistant publicity secretary Ashraful Islam Emon and assistant social welfare secretary Shahin Ahmed Khan were also present on the occasion.

Mia Golam Porwar said, people are not safe under the incumbent regime. Humanity, independence and sovereignty is at the verge of collapse. Whenever, Awami League comes to power, the economy collapse, banks are being looted, and people’s sufferings know no bounds due to price hike of the essentials. Because of the efforts of our predecessors, our land had become freed from the British colonialism. Awami League once again made this country a colony of the neighboring state. So, another struggle becomes inevitable to make the country truly independent.

Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said, the independence war was taken place to secure the fundamental rights. But Awami League is hatching conspiracy to hand the country over to the neighboring state. The looters are looting in all sectors. We have to save our land from the Indian aggression. The only safeguard to protect Bangladesh is Islam. He further said, the incumbent fascist government has been destroying all organs of the state. Public rights and desires are frequently ignored by the current regime.

Nurul Islam Bulbul said, by holding a dummy election, Awami League has strangled the independence of the country. Claiming themselves as the promoter of independence, they have put the freedom and sovereignty at stake. Bangladesh has lost its destined path on 28th October of 2006. Since then, Bangladesh is struggling to get back its path. Losing the public support, Awami League has been using the state apparatus to linger its tenure. By enacting Digital security act, they are suppressing the mass media. He urged everyone to come and join the movement for restoring basic rights of the people.
