Dhaka south city Jamaat’s ward level leaders’ conference held

The autocrat regime must be dethroned, says Maulana ATM Masum

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has said, the countrymen are living amidst the exploitations and repression of the incumbent fascist government for last 15 years. To get rid of the situation, the people are looking for political intervention. Jamaat-e-Islami is one of the largest political parties of the country. It is a pro-people organization. So, Jamaat leaders should be more attentive and active in fulfilling mass expectations. The incumbent government who are clearly enemy to Islam and they are subservient to the neighboring country instead for preserving and protecting country’s freedom and sovereignty. So, this government must be ousted. To ensure this, the ongoing movement should be intensified more.

He said this while addressing Dhaka south city Jamaat’s ward level leaders’ conference on Saturday night. Central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the conference. Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and former MP Hamidur Rahman Azad addressed the program as the special guest. Dhaka south city Jamaat’s secretary and party’s central working committee member Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud hosted the conference. Among others, Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir and Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Dhaka south city Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary Kamal Hossain, Dr. Abdul Mannan, Dhaka south city Jamaat’s working committee member Professor Mokarram Hossain, Maulana Abu Sadiq, Engineer Sheikh Al Amin and Dr. Mobarak Hossain were present on the occasion.

Maulana Masum said, as a leader we have to know the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon Him). They way he made his companions, we should know that properly. Likely, we have to be prepared to commit highest level of sacrifice. Only then, we will be successful both in this world and the hereafter. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is trying to produce such people. As soon this mission will be completed, the nation will be freed from torture and discriminations.

He claimed, Jamaat leaders have to guide the nation as per the historical lessons. Next parliamentary election is couple of months ahead. People have taken to the street already to attain their rights. Jamaat is also continuing its movement. This is why, the government has become angered over the organization and arrested Jamaat Ameer, Nayeb-e-Ameer, Secretary General and other leaders. The Awami League government is conducting similar repression against all opposition parties. We are raising demand for restoring a caretaker government for holding a free, fair and credible election. The government is continuing repression to linger its tenure but ultimately, they will be dethroned following a massive upsurge.

Hamidur Rahman Azad urged the ward leaders to take stand by the side of the people. He put emphasis on reviving ideological values based on Dawah activities. He also called upon the leaders to ensure beneficial activities. Jamaat leaders should go ahead to serve the people, he added.

Nurul Islam Bulbul called upon the leaders to work as per the pre-designed planning. He also put stress on facilitating follow ups to keep the grassroots activists enthusiastic. We have to find out the mistakes from our previous programs and should be attentive in correcting those mistakes in the upcoming days. People are suffering like anything now. Price hike of all essentials made the citizen’s lives horrible and unbearable. To overcome the situation, Jamaat members should play very proactive role.
