A fair and participatory election must be arranged by establishing a caretaker government system- Maulana ATM Masum

People’s lives became deplorable and exhausted due to misrule of the government. To get rid of the situation, the government has to step down immediately to hold a fair and participatory election under a caretaker government.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum said this while virtually addressing a workers’ conference organized by Bogra city Jamaat-e-Islami on 14th July, Friday. Bogra city Ameer Abidur Rahman Sohel presided over the program which was hosted by city secretary Professor ASM Abdul Malek. Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim and party’s central executive committee member Principal Shahabuddin addressed the program as the special guests. Besides, Bogra region’s team member Maulana Abdur Rahim and Principal Maulana Abdul Haq Sarkar also spoke on the occasion.

He said, Jamaat wants to build Bangladesh as peaceful and prosperous country. But the government is not keen to do so. This is why, they cancelled the party’s registration. After executing the top leaders, they have detained the incumbent top leaders. Paying no heed to the law, the government is re-arresting the Jamaat leaders. But finally, the government could not deviate us from our target. We will continue our movement to free the citizens, by the will of Allah.

He said, Since Awami League came to the office, they made sincere effort to eliminate the Islamic forces by imposing the ill-cultures. The fascist force is also trying to foil the unity of the patriot citizens.

Addressing the workers, Maulana ATM Masum said, Jamaat’s workers have to convey the message of Islam in all households. The enemies of Islam have created some misconceptions about Islam and we have to remove it from the heart of the people. If Islam is established, it will cause financial prosperity and political stability. He urged the activists of the Islamic movement to remain firm despite all barriers, repressions and obstructions.

Maulana Abdul Halim said, Jamaat-e-Islami wants to establish a just and welfare-based society for the people. We are heading toward our goal in exchange for the blood of hundreds of martyrs. The soil of Bogra is enriched with the memory of its great son, Shaheed Abdul Malek. We have to build this area as a fertile and potential space for Islamic movement.

Principal Shahabuddin said, as a viceregent of Allah, it is our duty to carry out al out efforts in the movement for establishing Islam. Jamaat activists have to play their due role properly. He urged the activists to take part in the ongoing movement to free the nation from the clutches of the tyrants.

The conference adopted following three proposals:
1. Government has to step down and an election must be held under a caretaker government.
2. Price of all essentials must be checked
3. Looting in the power sector to be stopped and uninterrupted power supply must be ensured.
