Jamaat greets people marking Pohela Boishakh

Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Ameer Moqbul Ahmad has conveyed heartiest greetings to the country’s people on the occasion of Bangla Nababarsha, Pohela Boishakh, the first day of Bengali year.

In a greeting massage on Friday, the Jamaat chief said the Pohela Boishakh is the first day of the historic and traditional Bengali year. The people of Bangladesh have been celebrating the day with ecstasy and rejoice. The first day of the Bengali New Year is also the festivity day of opening ‘Halkhata’ (new accounts book) of the Bangladeshi people. Every year, the day is observed with fresh joys and festivity.

The Jamaat chief called upon the people to celebrate the day in a befitting manner by holding educational programmes and joyful festivals with modesty and decency.

The Jamaat chief also wished the people on the occasion of the Nababarsa, and prayed for happiness, progress and peace for the people.
