Mia Ghulam Parwar criticizes Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif for his false comment against Jamaat-e-Islami
Friday, 04th November, 2016

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 4th November, 2016 protesting and condemning a comment of ruling Awami League’s Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif which he has made while addressing a discussion today at Dhaka University’s RC Majumdar auditorium marking the Jail Killing Day saying ‘Evidences are found of BNP-Jamaat’s involvement with all the incidents of attacking on minorities in the past’.

“Challenging the comment of Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, I further want to assert that no one could prove any evidence of Jamaat’s any sort of links with the incidents of attacks on minorities and no one will be able to prove it in future as well.

The countrymen are well acknowledged that from incident of Ramu of Cox’s Bazar, evidences of involvement of the Awami League leaders and activists have been found in all the similar incidents of attack on minorities which have been taken place so far. Local Awami League leaders were involved in the same form with the incidents of attacking on minorities in Brahmanbaria district’s Nasirnagar. Due to the involvement of the ruling party men, the local administration played a passive role and indulged the wrongdoings. The Awami League leaders and workers had carried out the attack with an intention to grab the Hindu properties. Furthermore, the ruling party leaders like Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif are delivering such provocative statements targeting Jamaat and BNP in a bid to save the ruling party goons.

The countrymen want to know, why did the local administration remain silent even after watching the incidents of attacks on the minorities for twice within a difference of three days in Nasirnagar? The people think, the incident of vandalizing and looting the Hindu houses in Nasirnagar on last 30th October and the incidents of setting fire at another 6 Hindu houses, locking the mosques and religious schools and similar attack on the Hindu establishments in Habiganj, Gopalganj, Banaripara of Barisal, Boalmari of Faridpur, Dhunot of Bogra, Jessore and Thakurgaon are tied in the same nod. Awami League leader Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif is making provocative comments blaming Jamaat and BNP just to divert public attention from the incident of Brahmanbaria and simultaneously his party men are attacking and looting the Hindu properties with ill intention. I am urging the countrymen to remain aware of such ill motivated efforts.

I am calling upon the authorities concerned to conduct a judicial investigation into the attacks upon minorities which have taken place in Brahmanbaria’s Nasirnagar, and Habiganj, Gopalganj, Banaripara of Barisal, Boalmari of Faridpur, Dhunot of Bogra, Jessore and Thakurgaon and to identify and to prosecute the real miscreants who were involved with these inhuman incidents.”
