Sunday, 30th October, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 30th October, 2016 demanding exemplary punishment of those robbers who had ransacked and looted the house of Satkhira district town unit Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdul Gaffar, who is also the son in law of Satkhira district Jamaat Ameer and former member of the Parliament Principal Abdul Khaleq.

During this brutal incident of robbery, the robbers also assaulted Maulan Abdul Gaffar’s wife and district town Jamaat’s women unit Secretary Saleha Shibirn severely. She is undergoing treatment in a hospital now. It seems that this incident of robbery could be happened out of political vengeance.

The robbers had looted all the precious items of this house. This incident clearly exposed the severe deterioration of the law and order nationwide. Public life and property is no more secured.

I am urging the authorities concerned to ensure exemplary punishment of those robbers who had ransacked and looted the house of Satkhira district town unit Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdul Gaffar on 29th October midnight.”
