Professor Mujib denounces the false report of Kaler Kantha; rejects newly raised allegations against Jamaat Ameer
Thursday, 27th October, 2016
Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 27th October, 2016 protesting a report published in the 3rd page of the Bengali Daily ‘Kaler Kantha’ on last 26th October referring Saleha Begum, the widow of the martyred freedom fighter Ahsan Ullah, of the Khushipur village of the Dagonbhuiyan Upazila of the Feni district who raised some false and baseless allegations against Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad.
“Saleha Begum, the widow of the martyred freedom fighter Ahsan Ullah has raised allegation against Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad of abducting and murdering her husband, which is entirely false and concocted. She has raised the allegation with an intention to damage the image of Maqbul Ahmad and also implicate him with this false case.
Neither Maqbul Ahmad nor his younger brother Khabir Ahmad had any involvement with the Razakar force. So no question is emanated from their part to instruct behind anyone’s murder, or abduction or rape or setting fire at the houses of the Hindu community.
I am urging the authority of Daily Kaler Kantha to be refrained from publishing such false propaganda against him and expecting that they would publish this rejoinder properly to lessen the mass confusion.”
