Hundreds of people fall sick after gas pipe leakage in Ctg factory; Professor Mujib expresses concern
Tuesday, 23rd August, 2016

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 23rd August, 2016 expressing deep concern as at least 50 people fell sick in Anwara of Chittagong last night after inhaling ammonia gas that leaked from a pipe at the nearby Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) Fertiliser Company Limited.

Those personnel must be brought to the justice who was involved with the explosion of a burner of Ammonium Phosphate in a fertilizer factory by the side of Kornophuli River.

The experts opine that the accident took place due to negligence and lack of cautions of the concerned authorities. I am urging them to take due steps to avert the recurrence of such massive mishap.

I am calling upon the authorities to take due medical measures for the injury victims and expecting their quick recoveries. I am also insisting them to take speedy initiatives to protect the locals from the unhealthy impact of this gas leakage.”
