Law enforcers picked up Late Professor Ghulam Azam’s son Aman Azmi; Mia Ghulam Parwar protests
Tuesday, 23rd August, 2016
Some plain cloth personnel claiming themselves as DB policemen have unlawfully picked up Ex Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Al Azmi, the son of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s former Ameer Late Professor Ghulam Azam from his Moghbazar Kazi office lane residence at 11.45 pm on last 22nd August. Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 23rd August, 2016 protesting the incident.
“Former Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Al Azmi is a non-political person. He is passing his retired life. He is an honest citizen of the country. He is respectful towards the law and the constitution. No case has been filed against him. So arresting him is completely unlawful and illogical.
The law enforcers broke the gate of his residence, picked him up and thus violated the domestic law, constitution and the human rights. There is a directive of the high court saying that no one can be arrested without arrest warrant and in plain cloth. But the law enforcers have violated this directive to arrest him.
The unjust abduction incident of Former Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Al Azmi has made his old mother, families, well wishers and the countrymen severely concerned and worried.
I am urging the concerned authorities to disclose his whereabouts immediately and to release in order to bring him back to his family.”
