Bangladeshi expat imam, aide shot dead in New York; Acting Secretary General condemns

Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 15th August, 2016 condemning the brutal assassination of Maulana Alauddin Akonjee, Bangladeshi originated imam of Al-Furqan Jame Mosque, in Queens of New York and his associate Tara Mia by some miscreants. 

‘We are deeply shocked at the incident of brutal murder of Maulana Alauddin Akonjee, Bangladeshi originated imam of Al-Furqan Jame Mosque, in Queens of New York and his associate Tara Mia. We are condemning this act of terror severely.  

I hope that the government of the United States would conduct proper and fair investigation into the incident in order to bring the murderers to the justice.

I am praying to Almighty Allah for accepting all the noble deeds of deceased of Maulana Alauddin Akonjee and his associate Tara Mia and extending deep shock to their mournful families.”
