Tasnim Alam rejects the false report of Amader Shomoy; Jamaat leader’s sons have no link with militancy, he asserts
Saturday, 06th August, 2016
Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 6th August, 2016 protesting the false information published in a report of Daily Amader Shomoy implicating the ‘sons of the Jamaat leaders.’
“Jamaat leader’s son had no involvement with the militant attacks in a Gulshan restaurant and by the side Sholakia Eidgah ground. So based on such baseless allegation any attempt to impose more surveillance upon the son of the Jamaat leaders would be unlawful and illogical.
Responding to the false report of the Daily Amader Shomoy, I want to assert that the information which has been publicized saying about the Jamaat leader family’s backing in the recent terrorist activities are completely false, fictitious and concocted.
The policy maker’s speculation which has been mentioned in the report of Daily Amader Shomoy about the involvement of the son of Jamaat’s former Ameer Professor Ghulam Azam, Mir Quasem Ali and Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee are also meritless. Jamaat leaders and activists never believe in the politics of revenge. So no question is emanated of having any link between the Jamaat leader’s son and the militants.
The report has referred a quotation of the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in which he claimed that he had heard about the link of the Jamaat leader’s son with the militants of Gulshan and Sholakia attacks, which is also baseless. The general masses will not be confused with such false news.
I am urging the authority of Daily Amader Shomoy to be refrained from publishing false report implicating the sons of the Jamaat leaders and expecting that they would publish authentic and credible news in future.”
