Jamaat men are arrested unlawfully from Joypurhat and Thagurgaon districts; Hamidur Rahman Azad protests
Saturday, 06th August, 2016
Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 6th August, 2016 protesting the unjust arrest of Joypurhat district Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Ataur Rahman and Thakurgaon Sadar west organizational thana unit Ameer Shamsuzzaman Dulal and 5 other activists.

“The government is arresting the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami unlawfully in order to make its tyrannical rule permanent. Without any specific reason, police is arresting the innocent leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and caused huge sufferings for them. Government’s fascist approaches are being exposed by the unjust arrest of the Jamaat workers. No government could stay in power for long by conducting such unlawful arrests and by detaining the opposition men. The government will not be able to hold its office as well.

I am calling upon the concerned authorities to stop torture and repression and to release all the detained leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami including Joypurhat district Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Ataur Rahman immediately.”
