Professor Mujib lambasts at Bangla Tribune for its fictitious report against Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad
Tuesday, 18th October, 2016

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 18th October, 2016 protesting the false, concocted and fictitious report against Jamaat-e-Islami’s newly elected Ameer Maqbul Ahmad published in the online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’.

This particular report has drawn our attention. The report is completely baseless. No question is emanated for Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmed of holding the post of Razakar commander during the liberation war of 1971. In those days, he was a respected teacher in a renowned high school. Many events and drama have taken place in the independent Bangladesh centering the incidents of 1971. But no one raised any allegation against Maqbul Ahmad anywhere in Bangladesh as he is upholding a clean and transparent image. But as he has been elected Jamaat Ameer, immediate after his oath taking occasion, this online news portal has published this false report which is clearly exposing the ideological enmity, political motive and its excessive vengeance. Such an allegation against a party like Jamaat-e-Islami which is following Islamic ideology and principles is completely unacceptable and irrelevant. They cannot confuse and misguide the countrymen by publishing such false, baseless and ill motivated report.

We further hope that the news media will play more constructive role for ensuring unity, peace, stability and development of the nation in the upcoming days.
