Hamidur Rahman Azad lambasts Professor Anwar Hossen for his vindictive article against Jamaat-e-Islami
Sunday, 04th September, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 4th September, 2016 protesting the provocative comments in an article written by Dhaka University Professor Anwar Hossen in the last page of the Bengali daily ‘Kaler Kantha’ titled বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামীকে শুকিয়ে মারার ব্যবস্থা নেয়ার আহ্বান(Call to destroy Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami like a dehydrated dead body).

“The article written by Professor Anwar Hossen targeting Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is extremely vindictive and full of ill motivated vendetta.

The concerned countrymen are well informed that, once upon a time, this Professor Anwar Hossen was involved with the politics of terrorist outfit ‘Gono Bahini’ and he had carried out terrorist activities in those days. These people actually initiated terror based politics in Bangladesh closing the path of democratic politics. Their creation of undemocratic ‘Gono Bahini’ had paved the way for the then government to launch one party tyrannical rule. They attacked the house of the then Home Minister in 1974 and caused many casualties. They created to Gono Bahini to conduct thousands of secret killings.

Right now, these peoples are riding on the shoulder of Awami League and created a suffocating environment by instigating the government for murdering leaders and activists of the opposition, particularly of Jamaat and Islami Chhatrashibir. They have failed to tackle Jamaat-e-Islami politically and now they are murdering one after one top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami implicating them with some false cases. Again they are asking the government to destroy Jamaat-e-Islami as a dehydrated dead body. Their main purpose is to launch one party rule and to exploit the mass people.

His entire article is full of hatred and vengeance against Jamaat-e-Islami. The consequence of terrorism, vendetta and vindictive politics can never be positive. His writing reflected that they want to make this country a failed state by creating violence, terrorism and chaotic situation. I am calling upon the countrymen to be alert of their heinous conspiracies.

To Professor Anwar Hossen, I want to say that Jamaat-e-Islami is functioning with the donation of its leaders, activists, supporters and well wishers. So their ill intention of dehydrating Jamaat-e-Islami will never be fulfilled. So I am urging Professor Anwar Hossen to be refrained from carrying out baseless and false propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
