Jamaat-Shibir have no connection with the recovered arms; Hamidur Rahman Azad refutes the false report of Daily Janakantha
Tuesday, 21st June, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 21st June, 2016 gainsaying the false report published in Bengali Daily ‘Janakantha’ titled “অস্ত্র জামায়াত-বিএনপি’র” (Recovered weapons are connected with Jamaat-BNP) which claimed that, ‘The arms and weapons which have been recovered from Uttara of the capital Dhaka, are mostly owned by the BNP-Jamaat militants, assures the intelligence’.

The report which has been published in Daily Janakantha implicating Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir is entirely false. Daily Janakantha has published this false report just to tarnish the image of Jamaat-Chhatrashibir forces. Jamaat or Chhatrashibir have no nexus with the arms and weapons which have been recovered from Uttara of the capital in recent times.

Responding to such false report, we want to assert that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir believe in systematic trend of democratic politics. So no question is emanated to create chaotic situation intentionally for making international pressure in a bid to dethrone the government. There is no such example of arms recovery from the Jamaat-Shibir forces earlier. The information, placed in the report of Daily Janakantha is fictitious.

I am calling upon the authority of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing false report against Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir in future.”
