Jamaat leaders arrested from Kushtia and Comilla districts; Mia Ghulam Parwar protests
Monday, 20th June, 2016
Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 20th June, 2016 protesting the unjust arrest of Kushtia district Jamaat Ameer Professor Khandakar Ali Mohsin and Comilla district’s Homna Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Saidul Haque.

“The government has arrested Kushtia district Jamaat Ameer Professor Khandakar Ali Mohsin and Comilla district’s Homna Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Saidul Haque as a part of their conspiracy to depoliticize the nation in order to launch one party autocratic rule. They have been arrested without any charge and specific allegation.

The authority is causing huge sufferings to them as they are being detained in this holy month of Ramadan. The countrymen are really dissatisfied and aggrieved with the tyrannical rule of the government. But the Islamic movement can never be subdued by such arrest and detention strategies. The government’s fascist face has been exposed once again by the incident of arresting the Jamaat leaders and activists nationwide. I am calling upon the countrymen to raise voice against the government’s act of crimes against humanity.

I am urging the authorities concerned to release all the detained party men including Kushtia district Jamaat Ameer Professor Khandakar Ali Mohsin immediately.”
