How a detainee who is in police remand can be murdered in gunfight, questions Acting Secretary General
Saturday, 18th June, 2016

Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 18th June, 2016 raising question to the authority as Golam Faizullah Fahim, who had been caught red handed in connection with the incident of attacking Ripon Chakraborty, a lecturer of Madaripur Nazimuddin College, has been killed this morning in a gunfight while he was on a 10 day police remand.

“What is the intention of murdering Golam Faizullah Fahim in the name of so called gunfight while he was on a day police remand in connection with the incident of attacking the college teacher Ripon Chakraborty.

After the arrest, Golam Faizullah Fahim was taken into police remand. The countrymen think his murder in a so called gunfight while he was in police remand is totally mysterious. As he was in police remand, the law enforcers were supposed to interrogate him for getting more information so that they can arrest more people involved with the incident. The people hoped that the criminals would be punished duly if their offences are proved judicially.

But ignoring the path of law, this detainee Golam Faizullah Fahim has been murdered in a gunfight while he was handcuffed. This incident raised question among the people, did the authority kill him in the name of gunfight to conceal the real truth forever? The general masses want to know the genuine truth.

The expert quarters think this extra judicial killing of Golam Faizullah Fahim would bury the real truth and the authority closed the judicial process intentionally.

I am urging the concerned authorities to probe the incident of murdering Golam Faizullah Fahim in the so called gunfight and to unearth the real mystery to the people.”
