Hamidur Rahman Azad rejects the false comment of Commerce Minister against Jamaat-e-Islami
Sunday, 12th June, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 12th June, 2016 protesting and condemning the untrue remark of Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed that he made while addressing a meeting of the law and order related committee in Bhola district’s Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on 11th June saying that, ‘Who are being nabbed as militant, belong to Jamaat-Shibir forces. Jamaat-Shobir men had murdered the wife of the Chittagong police superintendent brutally.’

“Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed has delivered completely false and untrue statement against Jamaat-e-Islami. His comment has no basis.

The minister has made this false statement in order to tarnish the image of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir. Responding to the comment of Mr. Tofael Ahmed we want to assert that, Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir has no connection with those people who are being nabbed now as militants. In addition, no question is emanated for Jamaat-e-Islami or Chhatrashibir to kill the wife of the Chittagong police superintendent. Jamaat always hates the politics of violence and murder sincerely.

In this backdrop, I am urging Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed to be restrained from delivering false, baseless and untrue statement implicating Jamaat-e-Islami.”
