Hamidur Rahman Azad disproves the Chittagong Police official’s allegation against Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir
Tuesday, 02nd August, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 2nd August, 2016 protesting the false and baseless comment of Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossen, which he has made implicating Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir while addressing the journalists on 1st August.

“The address of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossen implicating Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir is completely false. Responding to his address, I simply want to clarify that, Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir have no connection with any conspiracy or planning of terrorist attack. No question can be raised for Jamaat-e-Islami to create bad occurrences by utilizing the militant group. The address of Maruf Hossen is his own creation. There is no relevance between his comment and the reality. We would like to challenge him saying that he would not be able to show any evidence to prove his claim.

In this backdrop, I am urging Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossen to be refrained from delivering false and baseless comment implicating Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir in future.”
