Saturday, 23rd July, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 23rd July, 2016 protesting the unjust arrest of Dinajpur district’s Chirir Bandar Upazila Jamaat’as former Nayeb-e-Ameer Maqbul Munshi and 11 religious ladies from a house of Laxmipur district.

“Police has unlawfully arrested of Dinajpur district’s Chirir Bandar Upazila Jamaat’as former Nayeb-e-Ameer Maqbul Munshi and 11 religious ladies from a house of Laxmipur district.

The religious ladies gathered in Laxmipur to hold discussion on Islam. Police has arrested them and caused unbearable sufferings without any reason. Police has made an offence by obstructing the preaching activities among the women quarters. On the other hand, police has arrested Dinajpur district’s Chirir Bandar Upazila Jamaat’as former Nayeb-e-Ameer Maqbul Munshi just to harass him politically. The countrymen are highly disturbed with the misrule of the present government. I am calling upon the countrymen to raise voice against the tyrannical rule of the government.

Finally, I am urging the concerned authorities to release Dinajpur district’s Chirir Bandar Upazila Jamaat’as former Nayeb-e-Ameer Maqbul Munshi and the detained pious ladies of the Laxmipur district immediately.”
