Hamidur Rahman Azad disapproves the ill propaganda of Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif against Jamaat-e-Islami
Friday, 22nd July, 2016
Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 22nd July, 2016 protesting the address of ruling Awami League’s joint Secretary General Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif that he delivered in a workshop in the Baitul Mukarram Mosque organized by Islamic Foundation in which he termed BNP-Jamaat as agent of Mossad and CIA and accused these parties of conducting militancy in the country.
“The baseless address which has been delivered by Awami League joint Secretary General Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif implicating Jamaat-e-Islami is more applicable for Awami League. It is not justified for Jamaat-e-Islami at all.
The people of the country are well informed that the deceased leader of JMB, Shaikh Abdur Rahman was the brother-in-law of Awami League leader Mirza Ghulam Azam, similarly Rohan Ibn Imtiaz, one of the attackers of the Gulshan terrorist incident is the son of Dhaka city Awami League leader Imtiaz Khan Babul, another militant accused who has been convicted recently in a Singapore court is Jabed Kaisar, son of Chittagong district Awami League leader Nurul Islam. In recent times, Muntasirul Islam Anindo, the cousin of Rajshahi city Awami League leader Khairuzzaman Liton has been arrested too for his connection with militant outfits. These incidents clearly proved that, Awami League has created nationwide militancy keeping ties with Mossad. Now they are trying to shift the liabilities of these offences upon Jamaat and Chhatrashibir in a bid to conceal their own crimes.
I want to assert that, Jamaat and Chhatrashibir has no nexus with militancy. Rather, Awami League government is engaged with anti-Islam activities and at the same time they are indulging militants. Militancy and extremism has been created and spread over the country due to tyrannical misrule of the government and as a reaction to the government’s anti-Islam strategies.
Finally, I am urging Mr. Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif to be refrained from conducting baseless propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.
