Hamidur Rahman Azad denounces the false news of the Daily Anandabazar
Friday, 15th July, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 15th July, 2016 protesting and condemning the baseless and false news published in the online version of ‘Daily Anandabazar’ which claimed that Nibras, one of the attackers of the Gulshan terrorist attack came in close touch of Chhatrashibir while studying in North South University.

“Some gunmen entered into a restaurant in Gulshan of the capital on last 1st July and took some Bangladeshi and foreign citizens hostages. They also killed two police officers, 17 foreign nationals and 3 Bangladeshi citizens brutally. Immediate after this horrible incident, we condemned this barbaric and cowardice terrorist attack.

Following the attacks, the photos of the miscreants have been published in various media. No question is emanated from the part of Islami Chhatrashibir to have any connection with these killers, terrorists and miscreants. Islami Chhatrashibir does not believe in the politics of murder and violence.

It is really painful that a prestigious daily like Anandabazar is publishing such false and confusing news without any assessment. We hope that for the sake of efficient and authentic journalism, the authority of Daily Anandabazar would be refrained fron publishing such false news in future.”
