Hamidur Rahman Azad rejects the false remarks of two ministers against Jamaat-e-Islami
Wednesday, 13th July, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 13th July, 2016 protesting the baseless comments of Liberation War affair minister AKM Mozammel Hoque that he delivered a gathering in the national press club on 12th July saying that the senior Jamaat leaders are providing training to their sons for injecting them within the militant groups for making attack incidents and another similar untrue remark of the Food Minister Advocate Kamrul Islam in which he claimed that BNP-Jamaat has deep relation with IS and Mossad.

“The comments of Liberation War affair minister AKM Mozammel Hoque and Food minister Advocate Kamrul Islam against Jamaat-e-Islami are completely false.

The countrymen are well informed that the deceased leader of JMB Shaikh Abdur Rahman was the brother in law of Awami League leader Mirza Azam and the one of the attackers of the recent Gulshan attack was Rohan Ibn Imtiaz, the son of Awami League leader Imtiaz Khan Babul. Different dailies have published news on 12th and 13th July about the militant connection of Muntasirul Islam, the cousin of Rajshahi city’s ex-mayor and Awami League leader AHM Khairuzzaman Liton.

To divert the mass attention away from Awami League’s reported militant connection, Liberation War affair minister AKM Mozammel Hoque and Food minister Advocate Kamrul Islam are trying to confuse the people with their false statement implicating Jamaat-e-Islami. But the countrymen would not be confused with such untrue statements.

Replying to their comments, I want to assert that Jamaat has no connection with the militant activities. Besides, no question arise at all to have links with IS and Mossad.

I am urging Liberation War affair minister AKM Mozammel Hoque and Food minister Advocate Kamrul Islam to be refrained from making such baseless and false comments in future.”
