Hamidur Rahman Azad denounces the false information of Rashed Khan Menon’s article
Tuesday, 12th July, 2016

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 12th July, 2016 protesting the false information, which is written in an article of Rashed Khan Menon, published in Bengali Daily ‘Prothom Alo’.

“Rashed Khan Menon placed some information in his article against Jamaat-e-Islami which is nothing but a sheer lie. Responding to his article, I want to assert that, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has no connection with any militant group. So no question is emanated for Jamaat-e-Islami to patronize 29 militant outfits. It is absolutely ridiculous claim that Jamaat had provided political and administrative backing in the mayhem that had been created by so called Bangla Vai and Shaikh Abdur Rahman.

Jamaat-e-Islami has no nexus with the incidents of setting fire at 400 schools or killing presiding and polling officers and the alleged turmoil in 2014. Jamaat-e-Islami believes in the systematic and democratic trend of politics. Rashed Khan Menon has been conducting false propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami in order to tarnish the image of this party. But the general masses would not be confused with such false and baseless information.

So I am urging Mr. Rashed Khan Menon to be refrained from carrying out false campaign against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
