Rajshahi city Jamaat’s Acting Secretary and 11 others arrested; Professor Mujib protests
Tuesday, 12th July, 2016

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 11th July, 2016 protesting the unjust arrest of 11 leaders and activists of the Rajshahi city Jamaat including its Acting Secretary Siddiq Hussain.

“Police has arrested 11 leaders and activists of the Rajshahi city Jamaat including its Acting Secretary Siddiq Hussain just to harass them politically.

These 11 leaders and workers of Rajshahi city Jamaat including its Acting Secretary Siddiq Hussain has been nabbed as a part of the government’s conspiracy to make Jamaat-e-Islami a leaderless organization. This unjust arrest initiative exposed the fascist face of the government. No government can rule a nation by imposing its fascist strategies upon the countrymen. I am calling upon the countrymen to raise voice against the fascist rule of this government.

Finally, I am urging the concerned authorities to release all the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami who have been arrested from different places of the country including Rajshahi city Jamaat’s Acting Secretary Siddiq Hussain immediately.”
