Professor Tasnim Alam rejects the baseless report of Daily Ittefaq and against Jamaat-e-Islami
Friday, 06th May, 2016

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 6th May, 2016 protesting and condemning the false and confusing information published in a report of Daily Ittefaq and also rejecting another report of online news portal which also quoted Daily Ittefaq titled   “সরকারউৎখাতেএবারমোসাদঅর্থায়ন” (Now Mossad is financing to topple the government) which claimed that ‘along with the BNP leader, a Jamaat leader was present in the meeting held on last 18th March in 1145 number room of the Park Plaza Hotel situated in West Minister Bridge of London. The intelligence also claimed of getting some links of Jamaat in the Singapore issue.’

In the protest statement, Professor Tasnim Alam said Jamaat has no connection and involvement with the meeting which has been held reportedly on last 18th March in 1145 number room of the Park Plaza Hotel situated in West Minister Bridge of London. So no question is emanated for any Jamaat leader to be present in that meet. The claim of the report about the Jamaat links with the Singapore issue is also false and intentional. Jamaat has no nexus with the Singapore incident.

The Daily Ittefaq and online news portal have published these baseless reports against Jamaat-e-Islami just to tarnish the image of the party. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami believes in systematic and democratic trend of politics. It always hates undemocratic and unsystematic strategies.

Like the previous culture of 1/11, these baseless reports have been published in order to smear the political parties. We want to challenge the claim of the report about the so called meeting of London. If they have the dare, I am asking authorities of the dailies to disclose the name of the Jamaat leader who was present in that meet. We want to reaffirm that no question is raised at all about having any link between Jamaat-e-Islami and the Mossad.

In this backdrop, I am urging the authorities of Daily Ittefaq and not to publish baseless and false report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future and expecting that they would publish this protest statement properly to minimize the mass confusion.”
