Acting Ameer calls to preserve sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan
Saturday, 04th June, 2016
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 4th June, 2016 calling to preserve the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan and to carry effort for self rectification by building Takwa ( for being conscious & cognizant of Allah, of truth, of the rational reality, "piety, fear of God".) based character.
“The holy month of Ramadan is knocking at the door with the sermon of the Rahmat, Magfirat (blessings and bounties) and Najat (the privilege to keep away from the hell fire). The holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him) has said the first 10 days of this holy month ensures Rahmat, the second 10 days secures Magfirat and the last 10 days confirms Najat. In the last 10 days, there is a night which is better than thousands of nights. If a farj (mandatory) deed is made in this month, it would be rewarded 70 times more, while a nafl (optional) deed may secure the reward of a Farj deed. This month is about tolerance, endurance and showing sympathy towards one another. I am calling upon to observe this holy month with due sincerity and devotion.
This is the month when the holy Quran has been revealed. Holy Quran is the best ever blessings for the mankind. We can ensure the best fervor for this month, by learning holy Quran properly and modifying ourselves, families and different aspects of life according to the spirit and teachings of the holy Quran. Almighty Allah has bestwoedn us with the month of Ramadan to build up the mentality and characters, which is needed for taking guidance from the holy Quran. I am urging everyone to perform fasting in this holy month sincerely to achieve that goal.
It is the duty of the government to protect the holiness of Ramadan and to curb indecency, vulgarism and nudity. It is also the obligation of the government to control the price of the essential commodities and to improve the law and order situation for protecting public life and properties.
I am also urging the businessmen to be refrained from gaining more and more profits and to keep the price of essentials within the common’s reach for the sake of the sanctity of this month.”
