Mia Ghulam Parwar criticizes the Prime Minister for her untrue statement against Jamaat-e-Islami
Friday, 03rd June, 2016

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 3rd June, 2016 protesting the baseless remarks of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina what she had made while meeting the Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Greg Wilcock at her national parliament office. Report claims in the meeting, Prime Minister further stated that under the patronization of Jamaat-e-Islami, different groups are trying to conduct terrorist activities in Bangladesh. Jamaat is at the root of these activities.

“The Prime Minister’s comment implicating Jamaat-e-Islami is completely false. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami believes in systematic and democratic trend of politics. The party always hates terrorism and violence. So no question is raised at all for Jamaat-e-Islami to patronize the terrorist groups and their heinous activities.

Jamaat has no connection with any incident of violence or the murder incidents of the foreign citizens, mosque imam, saints or the temple monks. The Prime Minister even knows it better that his ruling party men are responsible for the aforesaid incidents. She has made this ill intentional statement against Jamaat-e-Islami just to tarnish the image of the party. She is trying actually to misguide the foreign diplomats and the countrymen by making false and intentional comments against Jamaat-e-Islami. People from home and abroad are well informed that Jamaat never conducts the politics of violence and murder. Already different foreign nations have rejected such baseless comment of the Bangladeshi Premier.

I am calling upon the Prime Minister to be restrained from making baseless campaign against Jamaat-e-Islami.
