Hamidur Rahman Azad denounces the false report several Bengali dailies: Jamaat has no involvement with the incident of attack on minorities
Monday, 30th May, 2016
Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 30th May 30, 2016 gainsaying  the false report of Bengali Daily ‘Janakantha’ titled “কক্সবাজারে সংখ্যালঘুদের উপর হামলা, লুটপাট, মন্দির, বাড়ি-ঘর ভাংচুর” (Attack on minorities in Cox’s Bazar, looting, temple and houses vandalized) and another similar report published in another daily ‘Kaler Kantha’ titled “নির্বাচনে পরাজিত হয়ে হিন্দু পাড়ায় হামলা” (Attack on Hindu area after being defeated) which stated that BNP and Jamaat backed chairman candidate’s supporter attacked the minorities, houses, their temples and business institutions in Kuliapara of the Khurushkul union in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila.
“There is no relation between Jamaat-e-Islami and the alleged incidents of attack on minorities and vandalizing their houses, temples and establishments. These ill propagandas are being carried out against Jamaat-e-Islami just to smear the party image. The general masses would be confused with such intentional campaign.
Responding to the report of Kaler Kantha, I want to clarify that Jamaat activists had not attacked in Kuliapara village after the execution of Jamaat leader Shaheed Abdul Quader Molla. This is nothing but the sheer lie of the concerned reporter of Kaler Kantha.
This is why, I am urging the concerned authorities of Daily Janakantha and Daily Kaler Kantha to be refrained from carrying out propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
