Acting Secretary General disapproves Prime Minister’s false propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami
Sunday, 01st May, 2016

Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 1st May, 2016 rejecting the false, baseless and intentional remark of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, which she made while delivering an address in the public gathering held in Ghonapara of the Gopalganj district on last 30th April, saying that ‘BNP-Jamaat is carrying out secret killing as they failed to oust the government. This quarter can do nothing except killing and destruction.’

“The speech of the Prime Minister is totally false. Her entire address is clearly intentional and ill motivated. She has made false and bogus statement about Jamaat-e-Islami only to hamper the image of this party. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami never believes in the politics of secret killing, terrorism, violence, destruction or toppling the government unconstitutionally. Prime Minister is repeatedly delivering false address in order to confuse people. But the countrymen do not believe her wrongful address.

The countrymen are well acknowledged that the government is using the law enforcement agencies unlawfully to abduct and kill the Jamaat and Chhatrashibir activists selectively throughout the country. The ruling party cadres had hurled petrol bombs into the running vehicles to kill people and simultaneously carried out destruction and vandalism. The countrymen did not forget the ruling party thug’s mayhem under the backing of the administration. The Prime Minister is conducting propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami now in a bid to hide the misdeeds and offences of his own party men. But the failure of the government cannot be concealed by such ill campaign and propaganda strategy.

In this backdrop, I am urging the Prime Minister to be refrained from making false, baseless and ill intentional campaign and propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
