Hamidur Rahman Azad denounces false and baseless comments of Home Minister about Jamaat-e-Islami
Wednesday, 27th April, 2016
Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 27th April, 2016 protesting and gainsaying the false remark of the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in an interview with the Bengali Daily Prothom Alo saying that “দেশে যতগুলো হত্যাকান্ড হয়েছে সবগুলোর সঙ্গে বিএনপি-জামায়াত জড়িত রয়েছে।” (BNP-Jamaat forces are involved with all the murders, those took place nationwide).

Responding to the claim of the Home Minister, I want to assert that Jamaat-e-Islami has no nexus with the murder incidents, which have taken place countrywide in recent times. In earlier occasion, Home Minister had delivered such false and baseless remark against Jamaat-e-Islami. But none of his speeches has been proved genuine yet. This phenomenon proved once again that Jamaat has no connection with terrorism.

Immediate after a wrong doing, Home Minister started blaming the political opponents without any evidence and clear investigation. By making such false remarks, he is hampering the free and fair investigation process. I am urging the Home Minister and concerned others not to make any such fictitious statement for the sake of credible and smooth investigation.”
