Chhatrashibir activist Mohiuddin Sohan brutally murdered in Jhinaidah; Hamidur Rahman Azad demands punishment of the killers
Wednesday, 20th April, 2016
Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 20th April, 2016 protesting and condemning the inhuman incident as Chhatrashibir activist and HSC first year student of the Kaliganj College Mohiuddin Sohan had been picked up on last 10th April and his subsequent murder as his bullet reddened dead body has been found today (20th April).
‘By abducting and murdering Chhatrashibir activist Mohiuddin Sohan, the policemen have violated the constitution, law and the spirit of human rights. We have no word to condemn this brutality.

Police had arrested Mohiuddin Sohan from Jamtola area of the Ishwarba village of the Kaliganj Upazila under Jhinaidah district on last 10th of April. Since then, he has been missing. His bullet hit dead body has been recovered today from the Bulkia Chondotola ground of the neighboring Chuadanga district. At the inhuman murder of Mohiuddin Sohan, we are extremely shocked and mournful along with his family and relatives.
If the law enforcers kill people by opening fire after their arrest, then who will ensure the security of the citizens? The countrymen are highly worried and concerned at the atrocities of the police forces. Police is killing one after one Jamaat and Shibir activists in Jhinaidah district in recent times.

I am calling upon the local and international human rights organizations and the countrymen to raise voice against the brutal and inhuman activities of the police force.
I am urging the authorities concerned to investigate into the murder of Mohiuddin Sohan and to punish the involved personnel strictly.
I am praying to Almighty Allah to accept the martyrdom of Mohiuddin Sohan and extending deep sympathy to the victim family.”
