Hamidur Rahman Azad demands release of Nilphamari district Jamaat leader; urges to stop propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami
Sunday, 17th April, 2016
Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 17th April, 2016 protesting and condemning the unjust arrest of Nilphamari district’s Syedpur Upazila’s Botlagari Union unit Jamaat President Anisur Rahman Montu.

“There is no scope of arising question of having any relation between Anisur Rahman Montu and IS. The incumbent government has arrested him unlawfully just to attain ill political interest. He is completely innocent.

Referring the police and intelligence sources, online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’ has published some wrong information in their report saying that several activists of Jamaat-e-Islami in different places of the country have been recruited in IS.

This report is entirely false. This tyrannical government is conducting ill propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami to conceal their all out failures. I want to assert that no Jamaat has activist has included his name in IS in anywhere in the country. Such false information has been published in the report in order to tarnish the image of Jamaat-e-Islami.

I am urging the concerned authorities to release Nilphamari district’s Syedpur Upazila’s Botlagari Union unit Jamaat President Anisur Rahman Montu immediately. Besides, I am asking the concerned sections to be refrained from conducting propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
