Son protests ill-effort to alter name of Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee
Tuesday, 14 August 2012
Masud Sayedee, son of detained Jamaat leader Maulana Delwar Hossain Saydee, has strongly protested and condemned the government’s ill-effort and conspiracy to alter the name of his father—Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami.

In a statement on Monday, Masud Sayedee said the government in an ill-motive was trying to tarnish image of Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee by creating confusion about the correction of his (Delwar Hossain Sayedee) name as a conspiracy against him.

On behalf of his family members, Masud Sayedee clearly said that on the Certificate of Dakhil Examination (SSC level), his father’s name was written as Delwar Hossain Sayedee and grandfather (father of Delwar Hossain Sayedee) as Yusuf Sayedee.
In 2008, when my father went to collect certificate of Alim Examination (HSC level), which was necessary for taking part in the general election as per the requirement of the Election Commission, it was found that his name was mistakenly written at the Alim certificate as Abu Nayeem Mohammad Delwar Hossain Saydee.

However, upon application following all concerned rules and regulations, the Madrasah education board authorities has corrected the name at Alim certificate erasing the mistakenly written name’ a part ‘Abu Nayeem Mohammad’ and keeping rest of the part of the name ‘Delwar Hossain Sayedee’.

Masud Sayedee further said that the government’s ill-effort has been going on to represent the name of Delwar Hossain Sayedee in altered shape/words before the people from just his arrest in a so called war crimes case.
The government side was trying to make him (Delwar Hossain Sayedee) scapegoat of all crimes committed by someone name “Delwar Shikder” in Pirojpur during the Liberation War in 1971. The government made the prosecution witnesses mentioned at their testimonies Sayedee’s name as “Delwar Hossain Shikder” or sometimes “Delwar Hossain, at present Sayedee” in the court.

Masud Saydee alleged that the government has been trying introduce his father to the public in altered name in an ill motive to divert the responsibilities of other’s crimes that were took place held during the Liberation War.

The defence side, in support of the real name of Maulana Sayedee, submitted all documents including certificate of Dakhil Examination-1957, leaflets of Tafseer Mahfil he conducted in different places in 1964 and thereafter, 1974 Daily Ittefaq reports of his ‘Seerat Mahfil’ held in different places in the High Court premises, Dhaka University’s TSC area, his passport documents from 1975to the present.

Failing to implement its ill-motive about diverting other’s crimes to Maulana Sayedee, the government now started its new conspiracy to make him detached from the people and alter his name.

For probing correction of a person’s name, forming committee by the parliamentary standing committee is unprecedented in the world history, he said.
He also called upon the concerned authorities to refrain from such ill-effort of altering name of his father Maulana Delwar Hossain Saydee.
