Dwelling on the significance of the holy Ramadan Prof. Nazir Ahmad said, this holy month is the month of the revelation of the Quran. The Quran presents a code od life which encompasse the whole gamut of human life. It presents beautiful solutions to the hydra- headed problems that crop up in the social, political, economic and cultural realms of mankind.
He also said the Quran teaches its followers to uphold democratic values in the arena of politics, to abolish exploitation from the arena of economics, to eradicate indecencies, obscenities and vulgarities from the arena of culture and to protect rights of men and women, old or young, black or white or brown.
The Quran while teaching its followers the process of social change, advocates peaceful means and strongly opposes the adoption of violent means. It enjoins on the Muslims to propogate its message to others by beautiful preaching and super-excellent argumentation and not to resort to coercion and compulsion. As terrorism is alien to the teachings f the Quran, a true Muslim can, in no way, get involved in such a heinous act, he added.
Regarding  the aim and objective of Jamaat- e- Islami  Prof. Nazir Ahmad unambiguously said, “ Jamaat-e- Islami strictly adheres to the teachings of the Quran, it was opposed to terrorism in the past, is opposed to terrorism in the days to come.
The Muslims firmly believe that the path shown by the prophets(pubh) is the right path, the straight path and the bright path which leads to peace and prosperity here and salvation in the life after death, he said.
