Mia Ghulam Parwar condemns the unjust arrest of Abdul Baset Marzan
Sunday, 13 November 2016
Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament member, Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 13th November, 2016 protesting and condemning the unjust arrest of Rangpur district\'s Mithapukur Upazila\'s elected Vice Chairman and local Jamaat leader Abdul Baset Marzan this dawn.

The government has arrested Rangpur district\'s Mithapukur Upazila Vice Chairman and local Jamaat leader Abdul Baset Marzan just to attain its ill political vengeance. He is completely innocent.

Mr. Abdul Baset Marzan is a popular leader and elected public representative. The authority has become envious of his popularity and this is why its police forces have unlawfully arrested him and deprived the peoples of Mithapukur from getting their due services.   It should be mentioned here that, earlier Mr. Abdul Baset Marzan had been unjustifiably arrested on 1st February of 2015. He remained missing for several months. Finally he was produced before the court on 26th August of 2015. Completing all the legal process, he has been released on 12th July this year. He was again arrested this dawn which made us along with his family and relatives, extremely worried.

In this backdrop, we are urging the authorities concerned to release and to bring Abdul Baset Marzan back to his family immediately..
