Feni district Jamaat denies the false report of Bangla Tribune against Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad
Thursday, 10 November 2016
Feni district Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, AKM Shamsuddin, has issued the following statement on 10thNovember, 2016 protesting and gainsaying false report published in the online news portal ‘Bangla Tribune’ published on 10th November, 2016 implicating Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad citing an allegation of Feni district Freedom Fighter’s council commander Mir Abdul Hannan and Dagonbhuiyan Upazila freedom fighter’s council’s commander Shariatullah Bangali.
“The report claimed that former VP of Feni College and then East Pakistan Chhatra Union leader martyr freedom fighter Maulana Wazuddin and freedom fighter Aana Mia were killed by the instruction o Maqbul Ahmad which is completely false. Maqbul Ahmad was no way involved with any incident of murder, looting and arson in those days.
During the said period, Mr. Maqbul Ahmad discharged duty as a teacher in two renowned academic institutions of the Feni district. He has a reputation as an ideal teacher across the district. Still, a positive impression about his transparent and modest character is prevailing over there. In past long 45 years since the independence, no one raised any such allegation against him. The allegation started to come in forth after his taking oath as Jamaat Ameer. This scenario substantiates that the allegations are completely politically motivated and ill intentional. A vested quarter has been carrying out propaganda against him in order to tarnish his image and to implicate with some false cases. But the countrymen can never be misguided by such ill campaign.
I am urging Bangla Tribune and the concerned quarters to be refrained from conducting propaganda against Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad.”
