Professor Mujib urges the vested quarters to stop propaganda against Jamaat Ameer
Wednesday, 09 November 2016

Central Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 9th November, 2016 protesting and condemning the news published in various national dailies and online news portals implicating Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad with the crimes against humanity.

“Some news has been made for the investigation team of International Crimes Tribunal accusing Maqbul Ahmad for the incidents of crimes against humanity which had taken place in different places of the Feni district. But practically he had no nexus with those incidents.

During the war of liberation and in the subsequent periods, Maqbul Ahmad lived in Feni for long days. At that time, he was involved with teaching in two renowned educational institutions. He is known to entire Feni district as a man of decent and modest characters. The prove of this claim is no one had ever raised any allegation against him prior to his oath as the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami.

For last 6 years, he discharged the duty as the acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. No allegation was heard against him even in this period. But immediate after his take over as Jamaat Ameer, some vested quarters have started ill efforts to implicate him with some false cases which are nothing but a fictitious story.

We are asking the concerned quarters to stop such propaganda against him.
