The situation is being worsened gradually. According to the government statistics, already 14 people have been killed. Non-government sources marked the death toll as 27. More than 5 million people have become marooned. Thousands of houses have gone under water. More than 6 hundred religious and educational institutions have been flooded away.

The number of the flood affected people has become now more than 1.6 million. Crops fields have been submerged, seed fields have been completely destroyed. Many water prone diseases have been spread over alarmingly among the flood victims. The victims are crying for food, shelter, medication and pure drinking water. No help from the part of the government yet.

Under the circumstances, immediate medical teams should be sent in the flood affected area to rescue the waterlogged people. In addition, more foods, drinking water, cloths and home repair accessories must be sent over there. I am calling upon the concerned authorities to send relief on emergency.

I am calling upon all the affluent people and voluntary organizations to go by the side of the flood affected people. In particular, I am asking the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami of those areas to participate in the relief activities.

I am urging the countrymen to seek mercy from Almighty Allah for getting protection from this disastrous flood. Only Almighty Allah can save us from dangers. So we need to offer prayer before the Supremacy of Almighty Allah during these critical periods.

I am seeking salvation for the departed souls, who have died during this flood and extending deep sympathy to their families and the flood victims as a whole.”
