Acting Ameer calls the countrymen to offer special prayer seeking national peace and security
Saturday, 02 July 2016

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 2nd July, 2016 urging to offer special prayer seeking peace and security of the country.

Bangladesh, though is not a big country in size but more than 160 million peoples are living here. For decades, Bangladesh has been recognized globally as a nation of peace, communal harmony and tolerance.  But that image of the nation is being ruined now. In recent years, some untoward incidents have taken place across the country which have become the great issue of concern and increasing panic for the countrymen.

The ongoing criminal offences including kidnapping, abduction and murder have put the public safety and security at stake. Particularly the painful incident which took place on 1st July at the capital\'s Gulshan restricted area is simply beyond our imagination. This incident has made the countrymen more panic and deeply tensed. Such horrible situation should not be continued. But to get rid of such situation,  we badly need the blessings of the Almighty Allah and the national unity.

Under the circumstances, we are urging the people to offer special prayer so that the Almighty Allah bless the countrymen with peace and security. May Allah protect from local and international conspiracies which are being plotted against this nation.

I am extending my sympathy to the families of the hostages and the law enforcement members who have been killed in 1st July incident.  May Allah save and protect our beloved nation from any such hostile situation in future.
