Veteran religious scholar Maulana Mahiuddin Khan dies; Acting Ameer condoles

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following message of condolence over the death of veteran religious scholar, noted personality and the editor of Islamic Monthly ‘Madina’ Maulana Mahiuddin Khan.

“Maulana Mahiuddin Khan was the senior most religious scholar of the country. As a religious leader, he has gained reputation and honor not only in home but also in the global arena.

The Islam loving people of the country would remember him for his outstanding role in spreading and circulating Islam and Islamic ideologies. He was an accepted figure among the religious personalities of all corners. He was the symbol of unity among the religious organizations and the Islamic parties. He edited a monthly named ‘Madina’ which achieved tremendous popularity among all sections of people. This monthly has reached at the grassroots level successfully. 

Particularly, the readers were extremely interested to read out the question and answer section of this monthly. He translated Maareful Quran into Bengali and this Tafsir is available now in every place across Bangladesh. He has discharged duty as the member of the Rabeta Alam Al Islami and the senior Vice President of the Jamiat-e-Olamaye Islam, Bangkadesh.

I am expressing deep condolence at his death and praying to Almighty Allah seeking his salvation. I am praying to Allah so that He accepts all the noble deeds of the late Maulana Mahiuddin Khan to bless him with Jannah. I am extending my sympathy to his mournful family, relatives and followers. May Allah bless us all to overcome the shock of this irreparable loss.”
