Acting Ameer calls to observe May Day with due significance
Friday, 29 April 2016

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 29th April, 2016 urging to observe International Labor Day, popularly known as May Day on1st May, 2016.

The next 1st May will be observed as May Day. The labor community had set a unique example to ensure their due rights on this day of 1886 in Chicago city of United States. Since then, being inspired of this incident, the labor people around the world have been struggling to protect and defend their rights. The labor’s movement and endeavor for securing rights have not been succeeded yet.

This fact is proved now that no manmade doctrine can solve the human crises. Our holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (Peace be upon Him) has stressed on paying the laborer his wages before his sweat dries. The welfare of the labors and the employers lie in the proper implementation of this principle of the holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him).

At present, the labors are deprived from their basic rights. The conflicts and gaps have rampantly increased between the labors and the factory owners. Sometimes, the labors took to the street to achieve their rights, but still it is far away. We firmly believe that only the proper implementation of the ‘Islamic Labor Law’ can ensure the protection and welfare of both the labors and the owners communities.

I am calling upon the countrymen particularly the labor communities to observe International Labor Day, popularly known as May Day on1st May, 2016 with due significance.”
