At least 12 killed and over 50 injured in massive road accident in Rangpur; Acting Ameer condoles
Wednesday, 20 April 2016
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 20th April, 2016 expressing deep condolence as At least 12 people were killed and around 50 injured after two buses -- one of Rangpur bound Tripti Paribahan while another of Syedpur bound Saimon Express --collided in Teromile area in Rangpur’s Taraganj upazila on the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway this morning .
“Due to lack of sincerity and seriousness of the driver, such massive bus accidents are happening frequently now days which caused huge casualties. To prevent such accidents, bus drivers should be forced to follow the traffic rules strictly. Practicing and exercising of traffic rules would reduce the number of unwanted mishaps.
We hope that the government would carry proper investigation into the incident and punish the responsible personnel.   I am urging the concerned authorities to provide compensation to the victims of the accidents and also to ensure proper treatment of the injured. I am praying for the salvation of the departed souls who had been killed in this accident and extending our deep sympathies to the victim families and the wounded people.”
