History will judge this verdict: Khandker Mahbub
Wednesday, 09 March 2016

Jamaat-e-Islami central leader Mir Quasem Ali’s chief counsel advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain has said he has nothing to say about the verdict. “The history will judge this verdict in future,” said Mahbub, also president of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, while briefing newsmen at his office after pronouncement of the judgment by the Appellate Division.

He said the apex court has delivered this verdict and he has nothing to make any comment on it. “Mir Quasem Ali was sentenced to death on two charges in previous verdict but the Appellate Division has acquitted him of one charge.”

He further said, “We placed our arguments before the court. Attorney general too placed their points. The Chief Justice also made comments. You have seen everything. I have nothing to say.”

Replying to a question from reporters, Khandker Mahbub Hossain said they will take decision on moving review petition before the apex court against this verdict on Mir Quasem after receiving the full verdict.
