Bangladesh: Pushing for Another Death Penalty

Following four executions so far, Bangladesh keeps pushing for another death penalty for Mir Quasem Ali, a key leader of Bangladesh\'s main religious party, Jamaat-e-Islami. The latest verdicts against for Mir Quasem Ali is no different.   The Supreme Court of Bangladesh is going to deliver Tuesday 8th of March, 2016 the verdict on the appeal filed by Mir Quasem Ali challenging his death penalty.   Previously, three other party leaders of BJI, Ali Ahsan M. Mujahid, Mr. Abdul Quader Mollah and Mr. Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, were executed.   This occurred despite repeated calls and diplomatic efforts, including from the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The latest verdicts against Mir Quasem Ali will be no different.
