Acting Ameer calls to observe Victory Day on 16th December by forming unity against the undemocratic and fascist force
Monday, 14 December 2015
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 14th December, 2015 on the eve of the Victory Day on next 16th December.  “Victory Day is going to be celebrated on next 16th December. The Day has tremendous significance and importance in our national life. We are remembering those people with great honor who had sacrificed their lives for the nation and the freedom fighters who had taken part in the great liberation war. We are also praying to Almighty Allah for the salvation of the departed souls. The nation is going to celebrate the Victory Day in such a time when we are undergoing amid a suffocating situation. In guise of the democracy, the autocracy has been imposed upon the countrymen once again. They have killed the trend of democracy and snatched the voting rights of the people away. National unity must be formed to get rid of this crisis. I am urging all units and front organizations of Jamaat-e-Islami to observe the Victory Day on next 16th December by holding discussion and prayer program with a vow to protect and defend the independence and sovereignty by forming broad base national unity against the undemocratic and fascist force. Besides, I am extending greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of the Victory Day and wishing everyone’s happiness and prosperity.”
