Acting Ameer greets the countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr
Thursday, 16 July 2015
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 16th July, 2015 extending the greetings of Eid-ul-Fitr to the countrymen.
“The Holy Eid-ul-Fitr knocks at our door as the month of holy Ramadan is ending. Eid-ul-Fitr is the true conclusion of the month long fasting. Almighty Allah has bestowed the humanity with the Holy Quran in this holy month of Ramadan. The basic demand and requirement of the Ramadan is to build a Taqwa-based society. Only such a society can ensure justice and brings peace and happiness to the mankind and ultimately uphold democratic values. If a humanitarian society is built as per the ideals of the holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him) and the subsequent Khaliphs, then people would be able to enjoy the real happiness of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The countrymen are going to celebrate to Eid-ul-Fitr amid such a period, when violence and turmoil is prevailing across the world including Bangladesh. The people of our beloved nation are also passing days amid extensive crisis due to the government’s repression and torture, political vengeance, uncertainty, terrorism, extortion, tender terrorism, mass arrest drive, power, gas and water crisis, poor law and order and severe price hike of the commodities.
The government has kept the top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir and thousands of leaders and activists of the 20 party alliances in connection with some false and politically motivated cases. Under such circumstances, Eid cannot be celebrated with due joy and peace. The only way out of such suffocating situation is to follow the rules and ideology of Islam. So it is our duty and obligation to play active role for establishing Islamic society.
Let us celebrate the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr with a dream and desire of building an Islamic welfare state. I am wishing peace, progress and happiness of the countrymen and conveying my greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.”
